The Mio Balaclava is a cozy baby balaclava, knitted in seed stitch with a ribbed band at the face opening and neck. It wraps gently around your little one's head and protects them from cold and wind.
The balaclava is worked in two parts. First, a rectangle is knitted flat in seed stitch, forming the main hood. The face opening is worked in the round in 1x1 ribbing and finished with an Italian bind-off. After sewing the back of the head, stitches are picked up along the neck opening and a short ribbed neckband is shaped with short rows – finished off with a delicate ruffle.
This pattern includes supporting graphs and video tutorials for key techniques.
